In 1960&#8217;s he was a member of Karel Velebny&#8217;s SHQ. In 1970 he recorded his solo album &#8220;Sentimental Trumpet&#8221; with strings. As soloist he took part on the famous big band recording &#8220;Jazz Goes To Beat&#8221; by Vaclav Zahradnik.<\/p>\n<p>In the end of 1967 he founded his own Jazz Celula ensemble and since the beginning of 1970 he was a member of d the Czech Radio Jazz Orchestra (JOCR).<\/p>\n<p>He also made some duo recordings with the guitarist Sarka Dvorak and composed a lot of music for film and TV productions.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1985 he lives in United States where he is a leader of the &#8220;Jazz Cellula International&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Laco has performed throughout the United States with a roster of jazz the finest musicians, among them: Elvin Jones, Bill Watrous, Junior Cook, Dave Weckl, Sonny Costanzo, just to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>Reviews:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Laco Deczi concert at the York Theatre this spring was for me the most exciting, moving, and all-around entertaining live jazz I\u2019ve heard in Vancouver\u2014by far.<br \/>\nThe range of this group is remarkable\u2014from wildly dramatic to outrageously quirky to softly wistful\u2014and surprisingly\u00a0funny! Humour crept in when least expected\u2014a delightful reminder that all moods change and even sadness can be lightly held. It was a pleasure in itself just to see how much fun the group had playing together.\u00a0Each gave a truly memorable performance and each\u00a0brought a completely unique voice to the blend. For this amateur musician it was a treat worth every cent of the admission to take in the brilliant rhythms, harmonies and sheer playing technique of this quartet, which was exhilarating most of the night. Koncert se konal v\u00a0nov\u00e9m York Theatre \u2013 The Cultch (639 Comercial Drive, Vancouver) shodou okolnost\u00ed v\u00a0den m\u00fdch pokro\u010dil\u00fdch (75) narozenin, 11.dubna.<br \/>\nPokud v\u00a0n\u00e1zvu programu je jazz, pak v\u00a0tomto p\u0159\u00edpad\u011b \u0161lo o jazz s\u00a0 velik\u00fdm J, absolutn\u011b \u0161pi\u010dkov\u00e9 \u00farovn\u011b a kvality v\u0161ech jeho \u010dlen\u016f a pod veden\u00edm legend\u00e1rn\u00edho Laco Decziho, slavn\u00e9ho je\u0161t\u011b v\u00a0dob\u011b vl\u00e1dy jedn\u00e9 strany v\u00a0\u010ceskoslovensku.<br \/>\nTechnick\u00e1 a muzik\u00e1ln\u00ed dokonalost v\u0161ech, vit\u00e1ln\u00ed, komplikovan\u00e1 hra V.Decziho na bic\u00ed, n\u00e1padit\u00e1 sola M.Kr\u00e1sn\u00e9ho (a scatov\u00fd zp\u011bv\u00a0 v doprovodu sv\u00e9ho n\u00e1stroje),\u00a0 technicky v\u00fdborn\u00fd, znamenit\u011b vyu\u017e\u00edvaj\u00edc\u00ed\u00a0 mo\u017enost\u00ed elektrick\u00e9ho keyboardu Jan Ale\u0161 \u2026 v\u0161ichni v\u00a0dokonal\u00e9 souh\u0159e s\u00a0L.Deczim.<br \/>\nV\u011bt\u0161ina skladeb byla instrument\u00e1ln\u00edho improviza\u010dn\u00edho charakteru v\u00a0trv\u00e1n\u00ed mnoha dlouh\u00fdch minut. Ob\u010das jsem si ale man\u011b p\u0159ipomn\u011bl v\u00fdrok Count Basieho, \u017ee jazz jsou tak\u00e9 pauzy a ticha. To bylo nejednou p\u0159edvedeno v\u00a0absolutn\u00ed dokonalosti ve skladb\u00e1ch t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 be-bopov\u00e9ho charekteru dokonalou synchoronizac\u00ed n\u00e1stup\u016f (po vte\u0159ince \u010di dvou ticha) L.Decziho hlavn\u011b s\u00a0buben\u00edkem, ale stejn\u011b tak s ostatn\u00edmi hr\u00e1\u010di.<br \/>\nZm\u00ednil jsem se o bravurn\u00ed h\u0159e v\u0161ech \u010dlen\u016f komba, ale nemohu se je\u0161t\u011b nezm\u00ednit o V. Deczim. M\u00e1lokdy jsem sly\u0161el hr\u00e1t na bic\u00ed s\u00a0takovou vitalitou a technickou jedine\u010dnost\u00ed , jako tohoto ve\u010dera! Muzikanti ne\u0161et\u0159ili na \u010dase, koncert byl dlouh\u00fd, stejn\u011b jako p\u0159\u00eddavek a reakce poslucha\u010d\u016f byla nad\u0161en\u00e1 a bou\u0159liv\u00e1. \u0160koda, \u017ee nezn\u011bla z\u00a0vyprodan\u00e9ho s\u00e1lu.<br \/>\nI kdy\u017e z\u00a0mnoha podob a styl\u016f jazzu nen\u00ed ten, kter\u00fd jsem toho ve\u010dera sly\u0161el m\u00fdm nejobl\u00edben\u011bj\u0161\u00edm (p\u0159\u00edli\u0161 dlouh\u00e9 skladby a\u010d v\u00a0technicky n\u00e1ro\u010dn\u00e9m proveden\u00ed, ale nejednou mi v\u00a0nich chyb\u011bl z\u00e1blesk melodie a swingu), to, \u017ee m\u00e1m rad\u011bji Cool jazz, Swing, Main stream jazz a \u010dist\u00fd Be-bop nikterak neznamen\u00e1, \u017ee nejsem schopen ocenit i tento styl jazzu, kter\u00fd ten ve\u010der s\u00e1lem zn\u011bl.<br \/>\nTo jsou ale zcela osobn\u00ed n\u00e1zory, \u00a0a snad pr\u00e1v\u011b t\u00edm je jazzov\u00e1 hudba zaj\u00edmav\u00e1, \u017ee krom\u011b svobody projevu poskytovan\u00e9 hr\u00e1\u010d\u016fm v\u00a0improvizac\u00edch, nabiz\u00ed poslucha\u010di mo\u017enost preferenc\u00ed stylu toho \u010di jin\u00e9ho. Ka\u017ed\u00fd styl m\u00e1 sv\u00e9 mistry. Ve zvolen\u00e9m hudebn\u00edm \u017e\u00e1nru L.Deczi a jeho Celula pat\u0159\u00ed nepochybn\u011b ke \u0161pi\u010dk\u00e1m i v m\u011b\u0159\u00edtku sv\u011btov\u00e9m.<br \/>\nDruh\u00e1 hudebn\u00ed akce ART without borders skon\u010dila \u00fasp\u011bchem. \u0160koda, \u017ee s\u00e1l nebyl vyprodan\u00fd.
